Authentic Indian Food • Reykjavík & Kópavogur • Dine-In & Takeaway

Indian Food Box Restaurant – Kópavogur: Officially opened by the Ambassador of India to Iceland in 2025. After five years of passion and hard work, we finally opened our little restaurant at Hamraborg 11, Kópavogur — a warm, elegant space that celebrates the true taste of India in the heart of Iceland.

Indian Food Box Takeaway – Reykjavík: From our humble beginnings at Langirimi 21 to this proud milestone, we still follow grandma’s recipes, perfected with our Icelandic touch.

Proud supporters of Iceland Cricket and the Kópavogur Puffins, we believe food and sport share the same spirit — bringing people together.

OUR STORY

Indian Chefs. Indian Recipes. Indian Spices. Indian Cuisine. Indian Food.

Three Indian friends with a hospitality background missed classic homestyle Indian food in Iceland — the kind we grew up with. The best way to fix that was to cook it ourselves. In October 2020 we formed Indian Food Factory; our restaurant is called Indian Food Box.

We bought a small place at Langirimi 21, Reykjavík, took brave bank loans, spent our savings on equipment, and started cooking from our 100-year-old grandma’s recipes, adding a light Icelandic touch (and a little spice).

We keep a small menu and obsess over details. Every dish is cooked with family spices imported from India. We also offer pickup, catering, and takeaway.

Our mission with Indian Food Box is to help people experience the taste of Indian home food — and that will always be our goal.

💬 What Our Guests Say

Do yourself a favor and visit this charming restaurant in Reykjavík. The food is authentic, rich in flavor, and full of warmth. You can truly feel the love and effort behind every dish. It’s easily the best Indian food we’ve had in Iceland — an absolute must-try.

— Vikram Seth
Every bite was delicious, and the service was fast and friendly — but the real showstopper is their mango lassi! I had five glasses and could’ve had more. It’s smooth, refreshing, and heavenly. I’d return to Iceland just to taste it again!

— Roy Rice
Located just a few steps from my office, this place has become my go-to for lunch. Their daily lunch boxes are flavorful, filling, and affordable. The Monday Members’ Special is always a fun surprise — you can tell they love what they do.

— Sylvia Hilmarsdóttir
Whenever we celebrate something special, Indian Food Box is our first choice. From the crispy samosas to the creamy kulfi, every dish is made with perfection and care. Our entire family loves it — the food makes every celebration better.
